Whirlwind Week

What a week I had. I spent last weekend and 1st part of the week in the hospital, with respiratory problems. As a result, I have quit smoking, am eating healthy, and now on an insulin regime for my diabetes. I am feeling so good, happy, and very empowered. I am super excited for the changes I am making in my life, and look forward to the physical changes in the future!
.
Now that I have explained my absence, let's move on to the scrappy part of my life, which is the point of my blog, lol!
It is Monday, which means a new sketch at Scrapbook Challenges.
Sketch 166
My take on the sketch.
I used Bazzill cs, Bazzill Just the Edge border strips, Basic Grey Romani pp (I think), Thickers, Tim Holtz Tag, Prima Flowers, and Milled Lavender Distress Stickles.
Last weekend was the AMR October Crop, which I had to leave early to go to the ER, but I did manage to get all the challenges done before I left-priorities you know! There are some regular monthly AMR challenges mixed in here as well.
This was for AMR's Oct 1st half Product Challenge, Use Paint.
I am out of foam brushes, so I used my God-given tools, my fingers.
I used Bazzill cs, MM Paint, K&Co chipboard sprayed with Glimmer Mist, RAK'd tag and handmade embellishment, Thickers, and punched/pieced flowers with rhinestone centers.
AMR Oct 1st half Scraplift Challenge.
I used Sassafras Hog Heaven pp, stickers, and letters, Prima flowers, brads, buttons, and Thickers. The inside scalloped paper, is part of the same paper that is the outside edge-I cut the scallops out, then pop-dotted the whole scalloped piece inside (does that make sense?).
AMR Crop, Sketch Challenge
I used Basic Grey Mistletoe and Pear pp, Cuttlebug snowflake die cuts with DCWV Glitter paper, Bazzill chipboard (inked), MM Hullabaloo letter stickers, and Kaiser Crafts rhinestones.
Here is an example of how I am eating. Spinach Salad with canned salmon, carrots, red peppers, tomato, boiled egg, homemade lemon garlic vinaigrette. It was SOOOO yummy!!
Back to the scrappiness, I made this bookmark for a challenge during the AMR crop, make a tag/bookmark using alcohol inks.
I used a variety of Inkadinkado stamps (from the Costco packs), then used 5 colors of Ranger alcohol inks till I got the look I was going for, BG fibers, eyelet, and regular plain white cs.
AMR crop challenge, Bookmark Card.
I was feeling really, really bad, so I got really lazy on this one. I used Special Moments (Dollar Tree) stickers, and Creative Imaginations rubons. Inside is a bookmark using the same supplies that is perforated so the bookmark can be detached.
Interestingly enough, my DT had a little crop the same day. I joined late, so I only got one challenge done, we had to make a card based on the Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue wedding concept.
I used Bazzill cs, BG Two Scoops pp (old), SU Crazy for Cupcakes stamps, Kaiser Crafts rhinestones (new), MM Ribbon (blue), and Bic Mark Its markers. The something borrowed, is supposed to be a scraplift or sketch, I used a sketch.
It was my turn for a challenge last week at Scrapbook Challenges, so I chose the paper piecing technique. I really wasn't feeling well, so I am not super happy with the outcome.
I used BG Figgy Pudding pp, BG Infuse ribbon, BG buttons, Creative Imaginations rubons, and SU Season of Simple Grace stamps with SU Inks. I stamped each item in separate colors, cut out, and pieced together.

And The Scrappiness Continues

As promised, here is the rest of the stuff I got done this weekend.Align CenterThis one is for a SC challenge, Ad Challenge.
I used BG Phresh & Phunky pp/letters/tag, TT Technique Tile, unknown felt flowers, and some fiber.
AMR Sketch Challenge Week 2.
I used Bazzill cs, MM mixed lines pp and ribbon, crocheted flowers from Lisa, BG buttons, and Thickers.
AMR Font/Title challenge, Oct first half-use brackets in a bold way.
I used Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday pp, Bazzill cs, die cut flowers from Julie, chipboard brackets-inked and covered in Glossy Accents, Thickers, hand dyed "skittles", Flair badge, and unknown sticker.
I made this altered composition notebook for my cousin's birthday.
I used BG Sultry pp/letters/chipboard, Glossy Accents on the letters, and CB Flowers die and Cuttlekids Fairytale Alpha die for the butterfly.
I made a matching card, BG Sultry pp/brads, Bazzill, American Crafts ribbon, EKS stamp, and CB Flowers die.
A couple ATCs....
This is one I made for the Kids Only swap over at Swap Addicts Anonymous. I wanted to make the kids in the swap an ATC from me.
I used BG Cupcake pp, SU CS (Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede), SU Perfect Party stamps-stamped with inks matching the cs, Nestabilities, Stickles (Lime Green, Waterfall, Cinnamon), and clear "skittles".
This one is for AMR, September Crop swap-theme is fall.
I used Bazzill cs, DCWV Doodlin' Around the Page pp, Cricket Doodlecharms for the leaves/acorn, CB Flowers die, Studio G stamp, and a button.
A couple RAKs I have gotten recently, this one is from Lisa/LBOregon (AMR). Her daughter is in the Kids Only swap on SAA, so she made me these crocheted flowers as a hostess RAK!
Then, scraprageous/Lucinda sent me this stamp set from EK Success, along with some teeny tiny rhinestones (little square packages at top of stamps).
I got really sick yesterday, so I didn't get anything else done, scrappy wise. I am hoping to get some done today, since it seems I am feeling better today. For now, this is all I have to share, so here's hoping for some progress so I can blog tomorrow!!

Monday, A Little Late

Another Scrapbook Challenges Sketch! Sorry it is a day late, I guess I spaced it, lol!
Sketch 164
The layout I did for the sketch.
I used MME Bella Bella pp, Thickers, Adorn It little letters, die cuts from a RAK, and a button.
A card for Basic Grey Challenges, based on a sketch by Martine.
I used Bazzill cs, Basic Grey Blush pp, CB Asterisks dies, Kaiser Crafts rhinestones, and a stamped image I got from a swap so I don't know what it is, lol! I colored it with color pencils.
For my birthday last week, I got a $10 gift card from Michaels. So I printed a 40% coupon, and picked up this stuff! A Cuttlebug die cut set, Asterisks, and some Studio G $1 stamps.
Cliff made me this card for my birthday. He pulled out my Stampin Up Blender Pen and my inks, not to mention the Stickles, lol!
I also snagged this stamp set at Barnes and Noble!! $15 dollars for 8 rubber stamps, plus they are TWILIGHT!! Woo Hoo, now I want to do another Twilight ATC swap!!
I got quite a few layouts done this weekend, and will share tomorrow!!

This Weekend's Stuff

Please bear with me, as my blog headers are huge!! I have tried to fix it, but can't seem to get it to work. I know it looks dumb, lol! I have played a little in the html, but nothing works. If you know how to fix it, I would love to hear from you!
.
I didn't get a whole lot done this weekend, I have rediscovered Facebook games, lol!!! But I did manage to get a couple layouts done and an inchie swap.
.
This is for Scrapbook Challenges, Yummy In My Tummy Challenge.
I used all Pink Paislee Captivating pp scraps, My Little Shoebox mini letters, Thickers, Special Moments (Dollar Tree) stickers, and a button.
AMR Scraplift Challenge-Sept #2.
I used DCWV cs, Black Market Paper Society (RAK) pp, Magic Mesh, ribbon, Prima flowers, and stickled Thickers, and hand dyed "skittles". I colored Edward's eyes a pretty golden brown, lol!!!
For a swap I am hosting at Swap Addicts Anonymous-All Holidays Inchies. There is a group for each holiday, then seasons! I am doing all groups, of course! LOL
New Years, Valentine's, St Patty's, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.
I used Bazzill cs, Studio G stamps, brads, rhinestones, snaps, LOTS of Stickles, and a variety of different pens.
I got a few swaps back too!
SCS Beach Inchie swap. Apparently there were a few drop outs!
Part of the same swap, the Beach Theme ATCs.
AMR Months of the Year ATCs.
I won a random prize from the Beach ATC/Inchie swap, got this from TiDbItOlOgLsT54.
Got this from grammy-b at SAA with her gorgeous Fruit ATCs as a hostess RAK. Thanks Bren!!
I better get to work really soon, or I won't have anything to share, lol!!
Thanks for stopping by, my readers are the best!!!

Scrapbook Challenges Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrapbook Challenges Blog Hop!! If you are just joining, head on over to Pamela's blog and get started!
.
Welcome Back!
If you don't know about Scrapbook Challenges, let me tell you about it! It is a group on MySpace with weekly sketches and challenges. Pamela makes the sketches each week and does a fabulous job! The challenges are put up by the design team and are always fun to do. For each challenge and sketch that you complete, you get put in for the monthly prize drawing! This month the sponsor is My Little Shoebox. If you are not a member of SC, head over there and check it out! I promise you will not be disappointed.
.
Pamela has created a sketch just for this blog hop, and continues to not disappoint.
The thing I like about sketches, is for me, they really are a challenge. I find it difficult to not do the sketch exactly. That is what's so great about sketches, if the freedom you have, while still being inspired!
This is my take on the sketch. I used Basic Grey Ambrosia pp, My Little Shoebox letters, Thickers, Lil Davis wooden embellies (RAK from Pamela), and a chipboard journaling spot.
Everyone who does the sketch, will be entered into a drawing to win this stamp set by Unity Stamp Company, Birdie Inspiration! Just post a link to it on Pamela's Blog or in Scrapbook Challenges. While you are participating in our blog hop, be sure to leave a comment on everyone's blog, and you will be put into the drawing to win BOTH of these kits from Apron Strings Monthly Kits.

Want another chance at a great prize? Just answer these questions, and you will be entered to win this Unity Stamp set, Bevy of Butterflies! When you have the answers, email Pamela with your answers...pamelacy@msn.com

1. What is the name of our guest blogger today?

2. Name one of our newest DT members.

3. How long has Scrapbook Challenges on myspace been around?

4. Which Scrapbook Challenges DT member also designs for Scrap Within Reach?

5. Are you a member of Scrapbook Challenges on myspace?
I will have a prize for one lucky person who comments on my blog as well. Just leave me a comment and I will put you in the drawing! I don't know what the prize will be yet, but it will be awesome!!! You will get an entry for your comment here, an entry for joining SC (if you haven't already), an entry for linking me to your layout based on the sketch, and another entry for following me! Be sure to leave a separate comment in this thread for each entry!
.
Now, head on over to Lindsay's blog and continue on! Have fun and be sure to check out Scrapbook Challenges!
